PAYING HOMAGE | 2022-2023
This direction is inspired by the history of motion design and pays homage to the influential work of various artists such as Oskar Fischinger, Len lye, and Eadweard Muybridge. This will be presented through stop motion, cell animation, as well as traditional animation toys such as a phenakistiscope and flipbook. The animation will both start and end with a flip book to
create a cyclical story that eludes to the idea that art and design is full
circle, and will always draw some inspiration from art history.
By paying respect the old styles of the greats and introducing those
techniques into a slightly more digital setting, we created stye-frames that married both traditional and modern animation technology.
